Greetings, I'm Jake Booher! I hail from the small town of Bucyrus, OH. I felt the calling of the Lord to be a minister of the gospel at the age of 18, and graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 2014 with a degree in Youth Ministry. I married my amazing wife Maddie in 2016, and have ministered with her at Living Grace Church of the Nazarene in Merrillville, IN and Crystal Lawns Church of the Nazarene in Joliet, IL before moving to Ohio to serve at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Maddie and I are blessed to have adopted four beautiful children, A’Niya (14), Andrew (13), Christian (12) and Belle (11), and also have two adorable cats, Chester and Gracie. Trust me, you will want to meet them all! We are humbled and excited to be following the Lord's leading in planting a church in Mansfield, OH and cannot wait to see how the Lord uses Heart City Church to touch the lives of His children.

Hi friends! My name is Maddie Booher. I grew up an hour south of Chicago in Kankakee, IL. I graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in 2016 and have a BSW (Bachelor’s of Social Work) and a Minor in Child Development/Youth Ministry. In 2017 I graduated with my Master’s in Social Work from Aurora University. The Lord began calling me into ministry near the end of high school, but it took several years to accept and fully live into. I met Jake in the summer of 2013 when we were serving together at Shepherd Community Center in Indianapolis for the summer. We began dating long distance after that summer and got married in January of 2016. We have four beautiful kiddos through adoption, A’Niya (14), Andrew (13), Christian (12) and Belle (11),. We feel so humbled and grateful that the Lord led us to this place and opened the doors for us to do ministry at Heart City - a total answer to years of prayer! I am so looking forward to what all God has in store for Mansfield!

Hey! I'm Monica Hunt and I serve on staff here as the Pastor of Student Ministries! I'm passionate about teenagers and about the word of God being shared as the incredible source of wisdom and strength that it is! My biggest call is to be a safe space where people can find the direction to hope and healing! In 2013, I graduated from Ohio Christian University with a degree in youth ministry, and a strongly developed love for preaching & teaching. Beyond my work at Heart City, I train foster parents throughout Ohio and advocate for trauma-informed care that mirrors the heart of Christ. I'm married to an incredible man named Brian, and together we are foster and adoptive parents. If you come over to our house sometime, you'll also find board games, two cats, and a dog! I am excited for all that God has planned for Heart City and the children of God who are ready to be the hands and feet of Christ!
